Dr. Sang Bum Park is a Research Associate at the Florida A&M University (FAMU) School of Architecture + Engineering Technology (SAET). Dr. Park specializes in architectural acoustics and is responsible for research, teaching, and grant writing. As a proud acoustician and a sound engineer, he considers a learning environment to be a performance that is happening on a stage. He collects, mixes, and adjusts signals from students, literature, technology, colleagues, etc., to make the classroom environment balanced and suitable for learning.
Since 2008, Park has taught environmental technology, architectural acoustics, and research-based classes at the University of Florida and FAMU. Since 2018, while he has secured grant projects associated with historic preservation, he has expanded his research interest in creating a VR application for educational purposes using a laser scanner, photogrammetry, and game engine software.
